Who am I, you ask?

Hi, I'm Michael Diaz!

 

All throughout my life, I've had a deep enjoyment for video games - the ways they challenge me with their mechanics, the stories they tell in their narratives, and the worlds they portray through their mediums.

When I began my undergraduate academic career at the University of Central Florida, I developed an appreciation for programming and how it made the magic of computation tangible. Shortly after graduating, I entered the software engineering field following a series of internships with Northrop Grumman.

 

However I was unsatisfied with the lack of creative expression, and found myself finding solace in video games during my free time.

 

Eventually I left the industry to pursue a masters in game design at the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy, and found not just fulfillment in my work as a technical designer, but a like-minded community that was just as passionate about gaming as I was.

Now, I want to contribute to the same industry that motivated me through two degrees and brought me inspiration in the bleakest parts of my life!
